What is FSC®

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), is a non-profit organization that sets certain high standards to make certain that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner.

What is FSC® certified wood and why should we use it?

FSC® certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, biodiversity and economic benefits.

What does it mean to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council?

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization established in 1993 to promote responsible management of the world’s forests. The FSC® does this by setting standards on forest products, along with certifying and labeling them as eco-friendly.

Why is FSC® good for the environment?

FSC® helps maintain care of forests, the people and wildlife who call them home. So you can keep your life full of forest products while keeping our forests full of life. Forests are good for us. They provide a great environment for hiking and other outdoor pursuits and are even proven to have therapeutic properties.

Why is FSC® important?

FSC® certification can positively impact workers and communities, governance can be shifted globally, and change in economic and environmental conditions in the forest. Products with the FSC® label are identified as products with their roots from 100% managed forests. FSC® maintained forests help extract CO2 from the atmosphere which create a positive effect on Carbon offsetting of GHG emissions.

Who is FSC® certified?

FSC® certification is designed to help you do just that. It guarantees your customers that the FSC® labelled product one purchases has come from a forest and supply chain that is managed responsibly. To achieve FSC® chain of custody certification, you must adhere to ten rules that cover the essentials of responsible forest management.
